Savoring Every Moment
Outside my window is a huge rosemary bush that is blossoming with thousands of tiny blue flowers. It’s a magical place that hosts a bevy of animal life with a fairy tale vibe. Hundreds of bees are buzzing busily as they touch each flower. Hummingbirds hover with iridescent wings as they dip long bills in for nector. Cottontail bunnies hop out from their home sheltered deep within it’s shadowy recesses.
The smell of the bush is heavenly, especially right after a rain and every time I walk outside, I pause to breathe deeply and smile. I am trying to stop and be present in each moment of my day instead of constantly rushing toward the next thing on my list. It’s a work in progress. When I’m feeling stressed, I’ll open my window and listen to the buzzing of the bees as a gentle breeze brings the fresh, herby scent of rosemary drifting into my office and I instantly feel calmer.
As spring slowly warms and blossoms the earth, intentionally pausing to truly look, see, and feel the moment I’m in has brought a special magic to the season. Take the time to focus on the now, to savor where you are today and to find the beauty in every tiny, everyday moment.
